Description: Sound (German), b&w, 10 min. Since the late 19th century, Danish farmers have been raising pigs on a scientific basis, breeding them to ensure standard size and uniform quality. This requires meticulous care and good fodder. Thanks to the fodder supplied under the Marshall Plan, production is up, and prize Danish bacon accounts for 30 per cent of the nation's agricultural exports. 1948-1950. According to a catalog published by the Danish government film office, the film premiered at the Venice Biennial in 1952 and took a prize (“Det Gyldne Aks”) at the 1953 international agricultural film festival in Rome. Produced by Teknisk Film, Copenhagen, for ECA Denmark. NB: This film was included in a memo of Marshall Plan films at BA-FA of Sept. 5, 2000, as having a copy at BA-FA that was not currently usable. However, a researcher was unable to locate information on it in Jan., 2001. Further research needed.
